AVA Clinical Education Specialist



Blake Hotchkiss serves as Clinical Education Specialist for the Association for Vascular Access (AVA) at Talley. Blake has been a registered nurse since 2004, practicing in emergency and critical nursing before specializing in vascular access. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2004 at the University of Maine and earned his MBA and MSN in executive healthcare leadership in 2023 from Grand Canyon University.

During his career he has served numerous leadership roles including the CNO of a mobile vascular access company in New England with a mission of keeping high quality care close to home. He was the lead a team of authors to develop the AVA Resource Guide for Vascular Access. He has been published in the area of informed consent, is the Editor-in-Chief for several AVA publications and continues to serve the vascular access specialty through leading the development of the Association for Vascular Access’ first clinical practice guidelines in vascular access. He began working as consultant for AVA in early 2020, assisting with the popular ISAVE That Webinar series. Blake became an AVA Staff Member in 2021 and as a data driven leader, he continues to find new ways to look for evidence-based solutions. He plans to continue his academic journey and is in pursuit of his DNP in organizational leadership with an emphasis in education.
